Enemies To Lovers Books Similar To The Hating Game

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

Who doesn’t love a good enemies to lovers book? The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang takes the trope to a whole nother level and internationally. Stella Lane thinks that the universe is made up of algorithms and they can determine anything and everything. As much as she enjoys making algorithms for her clients, she’s concluded one thing… She has little to no experience in the dating world as a thirty-year-old. It also doesn’t help that Stella has Aspergers and is repulsed by the idea of french kissing.

But, this doesn’t mean it should stop her from dating. She decides she needs a lot of practice – with a professional. Vietnamese/Swedish escort, Michael Phan, agrees to help Stella check off all of her boxes on her lesson plan – including steamy hot sex. This no-nonsense partnership romance is one you can’t miss out on.

Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren

Another Christina Lauren novel that you won’t be able to put down, Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Note Dating, is remarkably one of the most hilarious standalone rom-com novels out there. And the trope of enemies to lovers like The Hating Game really hits a ballpark with this one. From the first night they met, Josh Im and Hazel Camille Bradford have been complete opposites.

Her zany playfulness is a complete disaster next to his mellow, stoic restraint. They’ve known each other since college and Josh has watched Hazel go through a lot – taking more than she should. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun and if that makes a man run then so be it. Their loss. And, Josh’s life hasn’t been all rainbows and unicorns either.

After having caught his girlfriend cheating, his whole world turned upside down. He’s enjoyed Hazel’s company more than ever. But what if the two dated? Not each other, of course. Read to find out what happens to their guide to not dating.

You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle

I loved The Hating Game, but You Deserve Each Other is another great book with an enemies to lovers trope. Except… it’s not exactly what you’d expect. Imagine being engaged to the love of your life, who also just happens to be your nemesis. Naomi Westfield and Nicholas Rose have the perfect relationship, Nicholas is just perfect to begin with. He’s a true gentleman; holds doors open and comes from a wealthy family. He’s just too perfect – they never fight. With their wedding three months away, Naomi has grown miserably sick of him.

She discovers that Nicholas has also grown contentment and is re-thinking the whole thing. She wants to end this misery once and for all, but it’s not as easy as it sounds getting out of this engagement. The two go into full battle mode against each other filled with pranks and sabotage – it’s an all-out emotional warfare.

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston has been awarded as Best Romance of 2019, including top 10 on Booktok. It’s thrilling, sexy, and witty – you won’t want to put this book down. Alex Claremont-Diaz becomes the equivalent of a royal when his mother becomes President.

However, there’s a problem. Alex actually has an enemy and it’s the royal prince, Henry. And when the paparazzi and press get a hold of Alex and Henry’s altercation photos, things between the U.S. and Britain get worse. To avoid damage control during a big campaign, the two stage a fake truce. What at first seemed like a fake friendship has derailed into a secret romance. True love isn’t always diplomatic.

This is probably one of the best books like The Hating Game because Alex and Henry truly despise each other.
