7 Places To Read Books When You’re A Broke Reader
Be honest, are you broke? You love to read and probably read your favorite books so many times, it’s getting boring.
You’d love to read some of the latest releases, but you also have to pay for rent this month.
Guess what? I compiled a list of some of the best places to get books for free or for a very low monthly price!
1. Bookstores
The amount of countless hours I spent going to bookstores like Barnes and Nobles and simply reading books on the floor is astronomical.
If you’re looking to read your favorite books for FREE, head to your local bookstore and just spend all day reading. Did I mention lots of bookstores have coffee shops inside? So you can sip that latte and read your favorite books.
2. Libraries
Seems a bit obvious, doesn’t it? A library is one of the best places to find and take home books for free! No money spent and you get to read some of the latest releases?
Make sure you check with your local library about free audiobooks too because who wants to spend the monthly Audible free when you can get the same audiobooks for nothing.
3. Project Gutenberg
Project Gutenberg is a unique place to get books for free. The website offers over 60,000 free ebooks for download!
And not that bad quality downloadable ebooks, I’m talking about great quality with a multitude of download options!
One of my favorite books that I’ve read on Project Gutenberg is Pride and Prejudice.
I loved the fact that I could download the book in Kindle quality or Epub.
4. Scribd
Scribd is an odd exception to this list. It’s free, but also it’s not.
Scribd is a 9$/monthly fee, but with that fee you can get an unlimited amount of ebooks and audiobooks. Unlike Audible where you can only choose one audiobook per month or other book services when you only get sent one book, Scribd offers you unlimited books for the monthly price.
It’s a great option if you want quality and are okay with paying a small monthly fee.
The site has millions of books to choose from, so you’ll never be bored!
5.Overdrive
Overdrive is a free audiobook website that is most commonly used by libraries and schools. If you interested in listening to audiobooks on a long commute, but don’t want to pay for each book – consider using Overdrive!
6. Open Library
Open Library is an open ebook library to get any book you want for free! There are thousands of options and so many classics you’ll fall head over heels for each one.
7. Many Books
The final place you can find books for free is ManyBooks. This website has an abundance of free e-books for every kind of reader. Whatever you like to read, you’ll probably find here at Many Books.
