Books like the From Blood and Ash series

1. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass

The first book I absolutely had to include on this list was A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass. Though the book has had some controversy about the relationships that arise, I find the writing and plot incredibly enjoyable.

In this book we follow a girl named Feyre, who is forced to live with a male Fae in his lands. While there she befriends many other fae characters, and discovers some new things about herself.

When this fae is taken by a cruel ruler – will she push herself to do everything in her power to save him or take her chance of freedom?

The series is incredibly fast paced and you’ll never see the twists and turns that arise. I won’t spoil anything for you, but if you love romance, adventure and fae – then you have to check out this book.

One of my favorite parts of From Blood and Ash was the banter between Hawke and Poppy – this book definitely has that if not more as the series progresses!

2. The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen

“A warrior princess trained in isolation, Lara is driven by two certainties. The first is that King Aren of the Bridge Kingdom is her enemy. And the second is that she’ll be the one to bring him to his knees.

The only route through a storm-ravaged world, the Bridge Kingdom enriches itself and deprives its rivals, including Lara’s homeland.

So when she’s sent as a bride under the guise of peace, Lara is prepared to do whatever it takes to fracture its impenetrable defenses. And the defenses of its king.

Yet as she infiltrates her new home and gains a deeper understanding of the war to possess the bridge, Lara begins to question whether she’s the hero or the villain. And as her feelings for Aren transform from frosty hostility to fierce passion, Lara must choose which kingdom she’ll save… and which kingdom she’ll destroy.” – Goodreads

Wowza, this if you’re on the hunt for out of this world amazing books like From Blood and Ash – you have to read this book for sure!

3. Crave by Tracey Wolff

This wouldn’t be a good list of books like From Blood and Ash if I didn’t include the famous Crave series by Tracey Wolff. Here comes the vampire recommendation.

Crave follows our human girl protagonist that is set to stay in the academy. At first everything seems to be going well, until she ends up finding herself in a midst between battling factions at the academy.

Our main character slowly begins falling in love with the “monster” of the academy – Jaxon. But all monsters have sharp teeth that can be used against you at any time.

I had recently started this series and definitely feel as though the writing is not for everyone. The book is written in a very witty and sarcastic way, so if you prefer more serious books – I would not recommend this book for you.

4. Crescent City by Sarah J Mass

Crescent City House of Earth and Blood is the latest installment in the Sarah J Mass world. This book is categorised as adult fantasy, so it contains some profanity and spicy scenes just like  From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout.

Our main MC – Bryce Quinlan is on a mission to avenge the murder of her best friend. As creatures in this world full of fae, angels, and more begin dying in similar fashion it’s up to her and a  fallen angel to figure out what’s going on.

Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose—to assassinate his boss’s enemies, no questions asked.

But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he’s offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.

This book is packed with that strong sexual tension that was irresistible for readers like myself in From Blood and Ash. And if you love mystery/fantasy mixes – then this book will rope you in immediately.

5. A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

Who doesn’t love a good Greek mythology retelling? I absolutely had to include this *very* spicy book in my recommendations for books like From Blood and Ash.

We follow two infamous Greek mythology gods – Persephone and Hades.

After a chance encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead and the terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever.

This book heavily builds on their character development and relationship as they spend more and more time together. If the spice drew you into From Blood and Ash – I can’t recommend this book to you enough.

What an incredible book that’s similar to From Blood and Ash!

In this book we follow a character named Mia, who is the daughter of an executed traitor. At first she lives both alone and friendless in a dirty city hunted by those old comrades of her father – but soon is given the opportunity of a lifetime.

Now, Mia is apprenticed to the deadliest flock of assassins in the entire Republic—the Red Church. If she bests her fellow students in contests of steel, poison and the subtle arts, she’ll be inducted among the Blades of the Lady of Blessed Murder, and one step closer to the vengeance she desires.

But a killer is loose within the Church’s halls, the bloody secrets of Mia’s past return to haunt her, and a plot to bring down the entire congregation is unfolding in the shadows she so loves.

Will she even survive to initiation, let alone have her revenge?

7. These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan

These Hollow Vows was a very recent book I had read also taking part in the realm of fae. Similar to From Blood and Ash, These Hollow Vows has a male character who is very sarcastic and humorous in his own ways – though you will have to let me know if you like him by the end of the book.

These Hollow Vows are FULL of twists and turns from every angle.

Our MC (main character) Abriella is on a mission to find her kidnapped sister from the fae lands – a very dangerous place to be if you’re human like our MC. Abriella will do anything to get her sister back including pretending to be the fake fiance to the Seelie Prince, while working with a group of misfit rebels from the Unseelie Court. She begins to draw closer to both men, but who will win her heart?

If you’re a fan of triangle romance books – hun, you’ve got to add this book on your tbr (to be read)  shelf!

8. Onyx and Ivory by Mindee Arnett

“They call her Traitor Kate. It’s a title Kate Brighton inherited from her father after he tried to assassinate the high king of Rime.

Cast out of the nobility, Kate now works for the royal courier service. Only the most skilled ride for the Relay and only the fastest survive, for when night falls, the drakes—deadly flightless dragons—come out to hunt.

And it’s this magic that leads her to a caravan massacred by drakes in broad daylight—the only survivor Corwin Tormaine, the son of the king. Her first love, the boy she swore to forget after he condemned her father to death.

9. Rhapsodic (The Bargainer #1) by Laura Thalassa

And finally we finish with the Adult version of both From Blood and Ash and A Court of Thorns and Roses. 18+ only, okay?!

Rhapsodic is the first book in The Bargainer series. In this book we follow our main MC – Calypso, a siren. When certain events unfold, she’s forced to go to the Bargainer as many people know if you ever need a favor – he’s the person to go to.

But for one of his clients, he’s never asked for repayment. Not until now. When Callie finds the fae king of the night in her room, a grin on his lips and a twinkle in his eye, she knows things are about to change. At first it’s just a chaste kiss—a single bead’s worth—and a promise for more.

For the Bargainer, it’s more than just a matter of rekindling an old romance. Something is happening in the Otherworld. Fae warriors are going missing one by one. Only the women are returned, each in a glass casket, a child clutched to their breast. And then there are the whispers among the slaves, whispers of an evil that’s been awoken.

If the Bargainer has any hope to save his people, he’ll need the help of the siren he spurned long ago.
