Chapter 214 - 214 Home <2>

214 Home <2>

It might just be ordinary things, but it had become a luxury when the world changed so much like this.

Kate treasured her time greatly.

At the very least, the change of the world had taught her to be more appreciative to what she had and the time she could spend with those whom she cared for.

After it was done, Kate ran to the military compound. The soldiers who were guarding opened the gate directly when they saw the card that Kate brought out. They were not crazy enough to stop anyone who had Kyle’s assistant card.

With that, Kate easily went to General Ryan’s office.

Tep! Tep! Tep!

“There’s a little girl here?” one of the soldiers exclaimed when he saw Kate running in the military compound. With a hat covering Kate’s cat ears, everyone will only think of her as a normal little kid.

“She’s Professor Kyle’s little assistant.” The other soldier who had seen Kate before answered.

“Eh, Professor Kyle is accepting little assistant?” their expression turned strange when they heard that. Since when did the lab would allow little assistant to enter. Even if it was Kyle, why would he want a young assistant rather than a capable one?

.....

Also, wasn’t there any law that prohibited people from employing underage labor?

She was clearly only five years old or so but she was already working?

“She might be their relatives or something. I don’t know for sure.” The other soldier shrugged, not caring about it.

“Relatives, huh?”

“It’s like playing game.”

The others could only look at each other and shook their head. They definitely couldn’t discuss about their superior, but this matter just made them quite confused and somewhat amused.

“So, what’s a little girl doing here?”

After a while, Kate saw the back field that the soldiers mentioned and saw that a pile of stones, soil, and so one were piled up there. Many soldiers were tasked to separate them in accordance while General Ryan was giving instruction from the side.

Kate ran towards General Ryan.

Her small steps might sound faint in this noisy area, but General Ryan could hear her coming even from a distance. And such a shallow and lovely steps could only belong to a little girl.

Turning around, General Ryan smiled brightly at Kate. “You’re here, Little Girl. I thought that you would choose to accompany Kyle to fight those giant mutated animals.”

“No, I don’t want to head to the wall! It’s too scary.” Kate pouted.

General Ryan’s lips twitched.

He felt that those giant mutated animals who heard Kate said they were scary they would want to cry first. If Kate were to stand in front of these giant mutated animals, they would definitely be killed without mercy because of her reverse healing ability.

Yet, in Kate’s mouth, it was these giant mutated animals who were scary.

Those giant mutated animals were simply wronged.

But those who didn’t know about Kate’s ability would only think that her words made sense. After all, a normal little girl would definitely not like fighting with those scary giant mutated animals outside.

Oh well, let this little girl be.

“Why did you come to me, Little Girl?” General Ryan asked. He knew very well that this little girl is not just a little cat, but instead a fusion of an adult and a baby cat. This might be what caused her to be really childish right now.

“I want to help Uncle Ryan to transport material!” Kate said energetically.

“Oh, you’re going to help me? What a good girl.” General Ryan happily picked Kate up and then put her on his shoulder. He’s tall and had broad shoulder. Putting a small four to five years old girl there was definitely not a big problem for her.

“I want to help and contribute too!”

“Alright, alright.” General Ryan laughed. He sighed deeply, wondering why his son couldn’t be as cute as this little girl. “Come with me to the border and then help me to transport the materials, ok?”

“Yes!” Kate answered energetically.

Even though the image of a little girl clamoring to help felt a bit strange in the eyes of other soldiers, they decided that it would be better to pretend that they didn’t hear anything. That way, they wouldn’t be subjected to this strange phenomenon.
