Chapter 150
Chapter 150
150 Information About Blood Contract
After the tent was set up, they all sat down to eat. The meal was roasted meat from giant mutated rabbits that they had caught in the past. Kate was never bothered to keep the meat from majority of giant mutated animals.
After all, most of them were insects.
She would never want to eat their meat...
So, Kate would only keep some of them that were killed cleanly. It was definitely not her or Kyle’s attack because their attack’s lethality was simply off the charts. They would cause the giant mutated animals to rot or to turn into ashes.
It was indeed their absolute weakness.
They had to figure out a way to control their strength better in the future so that they would be able to catch these giant mutated animals and not just killing them. Though, for now, it was enough to kill these giant mutated animals.
Kate looked into the distance and sighed deeply. Lucy and Lucas were separated midway. Well, they were using motorcycles and headed to other direction, so Kate estimated that they were going to pick up their parents.
Anyway, Kate believed that the of them will be fine.
They might see each other again in the future.
.....
“Marc, right?” Kyle glanced at Marc. “I would like to talk with you.”
Marc had finished eating and felt full. Hearing Kyle’s words he was a bit startled but he nodded and followed Kyle.
It seemed that they wanted to make the conversation private.
In fact, even if they were talking there, no one would be able to listen to them as long as Kate made a space barrier. This barrier would block everything, including sound. This was something that Kate only knew after Lotte and Jake told their experience.
Anyway, it was a very useful defensive ability.
“What are they talking about?” Hailey asked, turning to look at the others.
“I don’t know.” Jake shrugged. “Anyway, that one tent is for you and Lotte. There are only two girls, so you share the same tent, got it?”
“But I...”
“Got it?”
Hearing the stern tone from Dylan, who repeated Jake’s question, Hailey’s body trembled. She could sense that her cousin was indeed not treating her well and even didn’t care to cover this up this time.
In the past, they would maintain a superficial appearance that the two of them were having good relationship with each other.
But there was none this time.
It was clear that Dylan was tired of keeping up the fa?ade and decided that it would be better for them not to be close. Not even at the surface.
“Wang! Wang!”
“No, it’s not like that.” Marc looked at his dog helplessly. “It’s more like I didn’t expect it to happen.”
“What did you do exactly?” Kyle asked.
“Robby bit my finger and drank my blood.” Marc then fell silent. “At that time, the situation was a bit dire and there are several giant mutated animals around me. I can’t remember the exact detail, but I feel that my consciousness is pulled into a white space and heard Robby calling me.”
“Calling you?” Kyle arched his eyebrows.
Robby barked again while wagging his tail as if he wanted to give confirmation that he was indeed calling Marc.
“The blood contract had to be agreed upon by the two parties and seem to be quite binding.” Marc rubbed his chin, trying to find the word to explain what he felt back then. Since this method was not being approved by people yet, it was really hard to find the official description.
Many inventions started from an accident and Marc himself was not a person who was that good at explaining things.
“How binding?”
“Well, I feel as if my soul is connected with Robby. If I were to die, Robby will also die and vice versa.” Marc smiled bitterly. “The problem with this is the different in lifespan between humans and dogs. Robby will definitely die earlier than me.”
“Wang! Wang! Wang!”
Hearing the dog barking, Kate looked at Robby curiously. What she actually wanted to know was how intelligent was this dog, but looking at how he was creating trouble continuously, Kate already had an inkling of the intelligence degree.
A child.
That was the only explanation.
“I did think that there’s a possibility that our lifespan will be shared but I myself don’t know for sure.” Marc smiled bitterly. “Anyway, if you ever want to make a blood contract with your cat, I suggest you think about it carefully. The two of you will always be able to sense each other’s presence and even transfer your power through this contract.”
“Transfer your power?” Kyle narrowed his eyes.
“My element is earth while Robby is metal. However, due to the contract, I can use metal element too as long as Robby had energy.” Marc thought to himself. “You can call it as I’m borrowing Robby’s power. And at the same time, Robby can also use earth element as long as I allowed him to take it.”
Kate was stunned.
What?
The blood contract actually allowed them to share their abilities.
Thinking of her three abilities and then Kyle’s three abilities... Kate felt that such blood contract should never be made. Anyway, she’s technically human and not animal, so it shouldn’t have been possible for them to make a contract in the first place, right?
But seeing that Kyle was thinking and listening carefully, Kate had the inkling that Kyle might still be interested in the blood contract even after hearing about the severe binding power it had.
It was just...
There was no blood contract between humans, got it?
